Veteran Ghanaian coach EK Afranie wants much importance to be attached to Black Stars friendly games to improve its FIFA rankings.
The Black Stars have recently slipped on the global ranking largely due to poor results recorded in friendly games.
The Ghanaians drew 1-1 against Canada in their latest international friendly in October to slip to 30th on the table.
But celebrated Ghanaian coach EK Afranie is urging cautious approach in friendly games.
“I am not surprised that our ranking has come down because if Canada plays 1-1 with you and they even toy with us in the first half. Let us be more seriously, even with our friendly matches,” he told Accra based Starr FM.
“If we are not interested in the friendly matches and we will just play for the fun of it, then we should just forget it. We should give playing time to the young ones because when you are building a team, you look at the next target – the World Cup.”
