The Ghana Football Association will on Friday release the Black Stars squad for the upcoming international friendly against Canada.

Grant is said to have submitted his squad for the friendly against the Canaries at the Red Bull arena in New Jersey(USA) on October 13.

The Ghana Football Association will, however, review the list before making it known to the public on Friday.

Ghana will be using the friendly game to prepare for the Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers.

Invited players are, however, expected to meet in the USA two days before the game.

In a related development, Ghana will play a friendly against Peru next month as the Black Stars prepare for the November 2018 World Cup qualifiers, insiders claim.

The Black Stars will play a friendly against Peru on October 9 before they take on Canada.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA), has confirmed that they are playing a friendly against Canada on October 13 but have not revealed a friendly with Peru.

However, the Black Stars are permitted to play two matches under the FIFA international break for next month.

The GFA is yet to confirm that there is a second friendly in the offing.

Meanwhile, reigning MTN FA Cup Best Coach, Tom Strand, has expressed the wish to coach the Black Stars in future.

The Swede led Premier League side Medeama SC to win the MTN FA cup trophy for the second time in history after defeating Asante Kotoko.

The 34-year-old has been one of the admirable expatriate coaches in the country having led Bechem United to a respectable position in the League two seasons ago before moving to Medeama.

Tom Strand is, however, looking forward to securing himself the top job at the Black Stars in future.

“It’s one of my highest goals, coaching the Black Stars. Hopefully, it’s a positive dream. I’ll be very much glad if the Ghana FA employs me,” he told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

“We have to wait till the time comes. For now, let’s leave things as they stand now.”

Ghana giants Hearts of Oak are reported to be considering a move for the Swedish trainer to become the new head coach of the side
