Start Crush Annan’s Dreams

Anthony Annan’s Premiership dreams have been crushed for now after Blackburn Rovers decided they will not pay 2.5-million Euro for the Ghanaian international, KickOffGhana.com can reveal.

Annan spent the last week on trials at Rovers and even though he had impressed Paul Ince, Blackburn insists the asking price of Annan’s Norwegian club IK Start makes a deal impossible to do.

He’s a regular Ghanaian international and Paul really likes what he sees in him

Annan is back in Norway now and the deal will almost certainly be off until Start decides to back down on the asking price and if Blackburn are still interested.

The latest development will be a crushing blow to the midfielder who had done his part of the bargain to impress Paul Ince during the first four days of trials.

Blackburn chairman John Williams said: “Anthony has done very well. I don’t think we can be any more positive on how well he’s done. He’s a regular Ghanaian international and Paul really likes what he sees in him.”

But both Paul and Williams clearly did not like the asking price and insisted they will pay 1.4-million Euro for the player.

Now reports out of Norway claims Arsenal will offer him a one-week trial, while Olympique Marseille and Borrusia Dortmund are all interested.

Intriguing then that with all that interest he is being touted around for trials.
