Controversial Sports Journalist, Patrick Osei Agyemang popularly known as ‘Countryman Songo’ has cautioned cronies of former GFA boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi not to vie for any position at the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

In recent weeks there have been rumors that past members of the previous administration who worked closely with Kwesi Nyantakyi have ambitions to contest for positions when the Normalization Committee opens nominations for the elections next year.

However, granting an exclusive interview to Ghanaweb.com on the Sports Check show, Countryman Songo strongly warned associates of Nyantakyi and other members of the Normalization Committee to stay away from the GFA positions because they are all culpable for the current sorry state of Ghana football.

Asked if he will vouch for any of the old executives to assume the high office of GFA President, Songo said,

“When we get there we will cross the line. There are personalities, there are people there who can do the job, I don’t really see certain people who were working with Nyantakyi assume positions or maybe taking over the GFA after the Normalization Committee,” Countryman Songo told Ghanaweb.com.

He added that “They can be in the game if they want to but I don’t want to see any of them taking over positions or maybe the GFA presidency, I don’t want to see any of them.”

Following an investigation documentary produced by Tiger Eye PI, which detailed corrupt activates at the GFA, the former president Kwesi Nyantakyi was ousted from his post and was later issued a lifetime ban by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA). FIFA has since appointed a Normalization Committee who are currently running the affairs of defunct GFA and have been tasked to see to the election of a new president of the association.

Countryman Songo is popular for his never-ending criticism on his weekday program ‘Fire4Fire’on Adom TV.
