DR Congo giants TP Mazembe have rubbished reports linking ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah to the club.
Appiah has been without club since leaving Serbian side Vojvodina in May 2012 and was rumoured to be on his way to Lubumbashi.
The former Fenerbahce midfielder has come out to deny that he will be joining the 2010 African champions.
The Ravens have also confirmed that the 2013 CAF Confederation Cup losing finalists will not sign the 33-year-old.
A statement on the club’s website read: “The Presidency of the TP Mazembe denies the arrival of Stephen Appiah, the former captain of the Black Stars of Ghana. Without a club since May 2012 and his departure from the Serbian club Vojvodina after a stint in Iran Persepolis, Appiah (33) [is no joining the club] as some media have spread the rumor.”
