Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has spoken of his strong desire to end the Black Stars thirty year draught and says he is relishing the challenge of leading them out in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

In his most emphatic show of confidence since becoming Ghana boss with the sole purpose of bringing the Nations Cup trophy back to the country, the Serbian says the Stars will show the world on January 24 against Botswana in their opening game why they should be taken seriously.

Stevanovic is in Rustenburg with the Black Stars ahead of their 2012 Nations Cup campaign and says every day his belief that Ghana can win the Nations Cup is getting strong.

"Everyday I believe more in that because the players are fantastic professionals," he told KickOffGhana.com.

"Their commitment, approach to the training sessions is fantastic and I speak with them every day and give them confidence. I am sure after the first game Ghana will show the people of the world that we are really really favourites for this tournament."

Stevanovic is adamant the mix of experience and youthful players will help Ghana reach it's target in Gabon where they face Mali, Guinea and Botswana in the group stages.

"I think at this moment we have enough experienced players and enough young players with some tournament behind them. I think in this moment we have good mix between the old and young players with good experience and this is our big quality. We have one good year behind us, terrific qualifiers when we won all games, very good friendly games and all this give me reason to think we have a chance to win trophies."
