Steve Dotse Goes Down in Sixth

Tim Austin knocked out Steve Dotse in the sixth round Saturday night to retain his International Boxing Federation bantamweight championship.

Austin dominated from the outset and floored Dotse with a straight left in the sixth round. Dotse tried to get up but fell into the arms of referee Kamal Hasan, who stopped the bout at 2:09 of the round.

Austin is 23-0-1 with 21 knockouts. Dotse is 18-4-2.

Austin, the 1992 Olympic bronze medalist, had not fought in his hometown since turning professional in 1993.
