Sports journalist Saddick Adams has criticized Minister of Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, for the high prices of food items in the country.
Adams pointed out that the cost of basic food items like tomatoes, onions, and pepper has soared, making them unaffordable for many, especially the vulnerable.
Adams expressed frustration over the minister's focus on purchasing state hotels instead of addressing the rising food prices, which has caused public outrage.
“I tell the morning show hosts to come down and assess the prices of pepper, onion, tomatoes that ordinary people purchase all the time. We always hear on the radio that the Agric minister wants to buy six hotels. Doesn’t he know the price of tomatoes in town?
"You can buy all the hotels, but plantain and other food items have become expensive. He should stop the hotel deal and fix the prices, then later he can go and buy them and even add the sea. I like Bryan Acheampong, but this is not the time to discuss hotel deals,” he said in Twi while speaking on Angel FM.
There have been numerous complaints from various personalities in the country about the rising food prices, which are worsening the plight of ordinary Ghanaians.
Bryan Acheampong has faced strong criticism after it became public that his organization aimed to buy six state hotels. However, following the backlash, the deal was canceled.
