Striker Johnathan Opoku opens goal account in Holland

Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Johnathan Opoku scored his maiden goal of the season in the Netherlands on Saturday.

The 26-year-old Zutphen-born forward hit the opener for the home side in the 13th minute at the Seacon Stadion De Koel before getting involved in the second goal in 33 minutes.

Opoku's goal inspired Venlo who are now top of the table to a smooth win.

He lasted the entire period of the game which was against his former club.

The 186 cm striker bagged 13 goals last season for Venlo who narrowly missed out on promotion to the top-flight.
