Sulley Muntari is out of Ghana’s final friendly match before the start of the World Cup, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed.

The midfielder is undergoing a two-day physiotherapy treatment for a thigh problem under the supervision of a specialist in London and would be unavailable for the Saturday's game against Latvia at Milton Keynes.

However, the Ghana camp have been given assurances that Sulley would be available for the World Cup as he is set for a return to the team's base Saturday evening.

Results of an MRI scan on Thursday on his left thigh revealed blood clots which would require a few days rest after treatment.

"Sulley Muntari is seeing a physiotherapy specialist in London for treatment after the results of an MRI scan on his left thigh revealed blood clots. He's sat out of training since.

"He would be under treatment for two days, thus today [Friday] and Saturday and would return to the Black Stars camp Saturday evening.

"The coach of the Black Stars and the FA were briefed by our doctor [Maj. (Dr) Annan] on the results of the tests and the treatment processes.

"We agreed for him to see the specialist upon the recommendation of our doctor and he would return to continue treatment with our medical personnel.

"The briefs from our team doctor suggest that after treatment, Sulley would require a few more days rest but we have been given assurances that the player would be World Cup bound," Randy Abbey, spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association told www.ghanafa.org.

Ghana begin their quest at the World Cup finals in South Africa on June 13 when the Black Stars play Serbia before further meetings with Australia and Germany to follow in group D.
