Former Asante Kotoko defender Rashid Sumaila says he wants his former club to put the troubles of last season behind them and fight for the league title next season.
The Porcupine Warriors paid for a sluggish start to the season by losing their league title they had won for the past three seasons.
Sumaila who now plays for Kuwait side Al Qadsia says Kotoko should just build on their strong second half of the season showing which saw them rally to finish in second position.
“I think that every team will come up against challenges here and there it is acceptable,” Sumaila said
“But they have to work on their start to the season since they had a poor start last time out.”
“They also have to make sure they build on the second half of the season performance to give them a chance of reclaiming the title.”
