Triple Ghana Beach Soccer League champions, Sunset Sports Keta, have secured the signature of national team attacker Eugene Tettey Dekpey.

Popularly known as "Crouch," Dekpey has switched camps from local rivals Havedzi Mighty Warriors.

The towering 26-year-old, a former captain of the Warriors, joins Keta Sunset for an undisclosed fee.

The transfer means that Dekpey will now team up with fellow national team players, Michael Sema Sedziafa, defender Reuben Semabia, and new beach soccer discovery Mawuli "Fesu" Lawson, among others.

Eugene Dekpey is a serial winner in beach soccer, having won a beach soccer Premier League title, beach soccer Super Cup, Ghana Beach Soccer Clubs Union Cup, Keta Cup (an international beach soccer tournament), and Anlo Hogbetsotso Za beach soccer cup with his former side. He was also part of the Sunset Sports team that won the biggest African beach soccer club competition, Copa Lagos, in 2019.

Sunset Sports Keta are also set to announce other exciting additions to their squad ahead of the opening weekend of the Ghana Beach Soccer Premier League on Sunday.

Julius Caesar Beckley, the head coach of the side and assistant national team coach, is optimistic the new signings will make an impact on the team's performance in the league. "We fell short last season, and we are bent on improving our team. Eugene is hugely experienced in beach soccer, and he is a player that we can deploy in various positions depending on how we want to play. So yes, his signing is a very good one for us as we will blend the old and new players to give us a strong squad for the league."

Sunset Sports Keta, reputed as Ghana's most successful beach soccer side, will open their league campaign away from home at the Ada Assurance beach soccer arena against Kedzi Miracle Beach Soccer Club.
