Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has called for support from Ghanaians for the players selected for the 2014 World Cup to ensure success for the Black Stars.
The Black Stars coach named a provisional squad of 26 players for the tournament in Brazil on Monday, which has been widely praised.
The naming of players for the tournament normally divides opinions in Ghana, but the World Cup squad named by Appiah seems to have convinced supporters of the team that the deserving players have been named.
Appiah says he has done a diligent job of naming the best players available for Ghana and want support for the team to ensure that they have the peace of mind to excel at the tournament in Brazil.
“To the best of my knowledge, this is the best squad that I have assembled and I want every Ghanaian to support us to reach our target,” Appiah mentioned.
“I know many Ghanaians have their favorites and may want them to be included in the squad for whatever reason.
“But I like I said earlier, not everyone can be selected and these are the best players I have settled on.
“Let’s have faith in them so that they can deliver on our behalf.”
Ghana will play USA, Germany and Portugal in a tough group at the 2014 World Cup.
