The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Professor John Evans Atta-Mills has named a seven-member committee to both advise government on the appropriate package of rewards for the Black Satellites whose exploits made Ghana and Africa so proud by winning the Under-20 World Cup, and serve as the focal point for receiving the numerous donations and gifts that have already started pouring in for the Satellites. This Black Satellites Donations Committee, chaired by Mr. Oko-Nikoi Dzani, Chief Executive of NDK Financial Services, must present its report to His Excellency The President by November 9, 2009. The committee wishes to extend the opportunity to contribute to the Satellites reward beyond Ghana, so that Ghanaians in the diaspora and well-wishers of other nationalities from across the globe can be a part of this thrilling experience. The committee is accepting both cash and in-kind donations.
In Ghana, cash donations can be paid into the Black Satellites Donations Account at any Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) and Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) branches across the country simply by asking for their contribution to be deposited into the Satellites account. In-kind donations should be delivered to the committee secretariat at the Office of the Chief Executive of the National Sports Council, Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra.
Donations from well-wishers outside Ghana can be made by simply effecting an overseas transfer from any bank or financial house into either of the following Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) or Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) accounts in Ghana:
ADB Account no. 116 100 000 7957
GCB Account no. 101 113 003 6489
In-kind contributions outside Ghana should be made to the local Embassy of Ghana in the respective country.
On behalf of the Black Satellites, the committee appreciates all the support directed towards the Satellites, and will endeavor to publicly recognize corporate entities and individuals for their significant contributions.
