Suspended Schalke 04 star midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng refused to return to his club Schalke 04 for training on Friday morning despite having the rights to do so.
Boateng and Sidney Sam were suspended indefinitely following last Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to FC Cologne but according to labour laws, they cannot be denied training at the club.
Marco Hoger was also frozen from training with the Royal Blues for a week but all three have been handed reprieve.
Sam and Hoger returned to the club’s training ground and trained with a physical trainer.
But Boateng is reported to have written to the club asking to be exempted from training and wants to be given permission to talk to a new club.
The 28-year-old has been down the pecking order at the Veltins Arena and that has left his future speculative.
He could be making a return to Italy were Lazio, Juventus and Napoli are interested. German side Borussia Dortmund and Turkish side Galatasaray are reported to be monitoring his situation.
