> Sweden based youngster Joachim Adukor insists his skill and performances

> warrant a call-up to the national U-20 team, ALL SPORTS understands. The 19

> year old is in camp with his Swedish top flight side Gefle IF preparing for

> their opening game of the 2012 season next Monday April 2 against Malmo FF,

> but his sights are also firmly set on playing for the Ghana youth team

> class of 2013.

>

> “I’m doing great here and my coaches are asking if the GFA are going

> invite me to the U-20 so I want the coach and the FA to invite me because I

> will be a good addition. I am hardworking, obedient and most importantly a

> very good footballer,” Adukor told us yesterday from his Sweden base.

>

> The Satellites, mainly locally based players, have been camping at various

> times with head coach Orlando Wellington stressing that he will focus on

> working with players plying their trade domestically. Meaning limited

> places for overseas based players like Adukor.

>

> So what will Adukor bring on board to convince Wellington to select him

> among the few foreign based players expected to make the team when their

> qualifiers begin later this year right up to the Africa and world

> championships?

>

> “Well I will bring my style to the team and help my country qualify for

> the African youth tournament and the world youth tournament as well. I can

> create and score goals but I’m also a team player,” he told ALL SPORTS.

>

> But he also knows he must concentrate on playing regularly for Gefle to up

> his chances of getting the nod from Black Satellites selectors.

>

> He told us of the upcoming season: “I’m looking forward to a wonderful

> season and to play a major role in the team. I’m working hard to achieve a

> lot and I leave the rest to God.
