Swimming official for lifesaving course

Ghanaian International swimming official and lifeguard assessor, Kwami Kpodoh will participate in this year’s lifesaving course organized by the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI).

RNLI is the United Kingdom’s (UK’s) oldest lifesaving institute and its course for this year will take place at Zanzibar Beach in Tanzania from 20th September to 4th October 2014.

Kwami Kpodoh, who doubles as technical director of the Ghana Swimming Association and the director of training of the Ghana Lifesaving and Diving Association, joins other delegates from Africa, Asia, Americas, Europe and Oceania with a common goal of saving lives at beaches and pools among others.

He will be spending two weeks on the RNLI’s future leaders in lifesaving course, learning essential lifesaving skills and strategies for building and sustaining the Ghana Lifesaving and Diving Association and the Ghana Swimming Association.

On his return, Kwami Kpodoh will conduct a lifeguard course at Busua Beach Resort in Takoradi from 6th to 12th October 2014; pool lifeguard course at the University of Ghana swimming pool from 20th to 30th October 2014; waterfront (river and lake) lifeguard course at the Akosombo International School, Akosombo, from 3rd to 9th November 2014 and the pool lifeguard course from 10th to 16th November at the KNUST swimming pool in Kumasi.
