TESS Wins Regional Milo Soccer Championship

Sunyani (B/A), June 30, Techiman secondary school (TESS) became this year's Brong Ahafo regional schools and colleges Milo football champions when they beat Dormaa secondary School (DORMASS) 3-1 in the finals of the championship played at the Sunyani coronation park yesterday. TESS scored two goals 20 minutes into extra time after the full time had ended 1-1. Dormass took the lead through right winger Mark Asante in the 29th minute and held onto it till the end of the first half. Left winger Benjamin Gyasi of Dormass on resumption nearly increased his side's lead but with only goalkeeper Iddrisu Yakubu of TESS to beat, he shot wide. TESS, captained by inside right Akumfi Ameyaw, redoubled their efforts and cancelled Dormass lead through striker, Shaibu in the 73rd minute. They banged in two more goals in extra time, through Shaibu and substitute Sabiti Fuseini to win the day. Tess, the zone "d" champions, will represent the region in the national schools Milo championship to be held in Kumasi next october.
