The Chairman of the Premier League Board, Ashford Tetteh Oku, has said the country should be making the most out of the players discovered in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League last season.

According to him, the league revealed that Ghana had talent in the local league and, therefore, urged football administrators to tap into the many talents that abound.

“The league started, and we all saw the amount of talents that abound in all 16 Premier League clubs. For that reason, the league became very competitive, and we all saw how the title was highly contested. I just hope that as a nation, we make the best of the gifted players discovered by the 2015/16 campaign,” he told Class Sports.

Speaking about the competitive nature of the league, Mr Oku said: “The gap between the team that was lying at the summit and the team that was rock bottom still looked marginal right until the final day. And even until that last day, we still couldn’t tell who would be relegated apart from New Edubiase, who fell off quite early in the season.”

The 2016/17 Ghana League season is expected to start mid-December at the earliest.
