Ex-Ghana international Ibrahim Tanko has turned down an offer to coach local giants Asante Kotoko.
The Porcupine Warriors are desperately searching for a substantive coach following Maxwell Konadu’s appointment as Black Stars assistant coach.
Tanko’s name featured prominently at the club’s headquarters with reports claiming he had been contacted for the job.
But sources say an initial approach is said to have been turned down respectfully by Tanko, who wants to stay on in Germany to gain more experience on the touchlines.
Tanko has risen quickly in the coaching profession after been appointed as the assistant coach of German top flight side FC Cologne following his resignation from his post as co-coach of Japanese top-flight side Urawa Red Diamonds two seasons ago.
