Baafour Adjei Tuffour, Chairman of the Eastern Regional Football Association (RFA), has warned that heads of Division two football clubs in the region would be held personally responsible for any unruly behaviour of their supporters towards match officials.

He explained that this measure has become necessary in order to make Club chairmen more responsible in ensuring incident-free league matches. Baafour Tuffour gave the warning at an emergency meeting of the RFA at Koforidua at the weekend to discuss reports of misconduct, threats and violence during the first round matches of the Eastern Regional Second Division Soccer League.

He advised club officials to complain to the RFA whenever they were dissatisfied with the way their football matches were handled by referees for appropriate measures to be taken rather than assaulting the match officials.

Mr. Joseph W. O. Appenteng, a member of the RFA advised officials of division two football clubs in the region to be courteous towards match officials noting that their actions often promote misbehaviour on the part of their supporters towards match officials. Mr. Raphael Dzradosi, the Eastern Regional Sports Development Officer, warned that the RFA would strictly apply the laws governing the game to ensure that hooliganism in the game is eliminated completely. He reminded clubs which had not yet paid the fines imposed on their players who received Red Cards that after 21 days, they might lose the points in any match in which they fielded such players. The clubs agreed that the second round of the of this year's league should take off on Sunday, October 13 at all the league centres.
