Accra, June 13, GNA - The nation's best golfers would converge at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday for the club's Monthly Medal competition, a prototype of the June 25 Greater Accra Regional Qualifier of this year's Peugeot Challenge Championship. The one day event, is to offer golfers the opportunity to familiarised themselves with the changes on the course as a result of the recent heavy downpours.
Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Manager of the Tema Country Golf Club, host of the qualifier told the GNA Sports that the turf has been modernised with lots of greens adding that it was important that golfers got use to it before the competition.
More than 100 golfers are expected to flood the golf Course to battle for a place in the main competition held yearly in France and sponsored by Peugeot.
Mr Adablanu said this year's qualifier would rope in young golfers including Niccolo Catto of the Ghana International School with good handicaps to fight for a place.
