Tema Youth Chief Wilfred Osei has dismissed reports his instigated action against the Ghana FA at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) is punishment for being snubbed for a position on the Emergency Committee.

Osei has lodged a case against the GFA for repeatedly ruling against his club Tema Youth in their bid to gain promotion to the Ghanaian top flight.

The Tema-based club want Dreams FC stripped of Premier League qualification for using an unqualified player in matches in the second tier league.

Internal adjudication bodies at the GFA have an all occasions ruled against this request by Tema Youth, leading to the case being lodged at the international sports court.

Tema Youth chief Wilfred Osei has however been accused of waging a personal vendetta against the GFA over his snub in the awarding of positions on the Emergency Committee.

But this claim has been vehemently refuted by Osei who served on the Executive Committee.

“It is not true that because I was given a position on the Em.Co and therefore I went ahead to CAS as punishment to the GFA,” he told Happy FM.

“I have always insisted right from the start of the case at the Disciplinary Committee level that until the truth comes out, I will continue to pursue the case to the latter.

“This is a matter of principle and in any case, I even risk my position on the Executive Committee by forging ahead with this case.

“But then I am only interested in securing justice and what is right.”

The Ghana FA Emergency Committee is a smaller management body appointed by the President to run the day-to-day affairs of the federation.

The body is made up of the GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, his vice, George Afriyie three other members of the Executive Committee in persons of Kweku Eyiah, Benjamin Eyison and Eddy Doku.
