There are simmering tensions in the Ghana U20 camp with what appears to be an imposition of Baba Adam as the new team doctor.

Dr. Baba surprisingly turned up at the Black Satellites’ camp on Thursday hoping to be introduced as the team’s new physician.

Coach Jimmy Cobblah however declined to make the introduction as he is already working with Prince Pambo in the same capacity.

Pambo has been the doctor for the Ghana U20 team for the past five years and no official communication has been made of his change.

It is unclear whether the FIFA appointed Liaison team have decided to effect changes in the team’s backroom staff as no official communication has been made to that effect.

Sources however tell FootballMadeInGhana.com Dr. Baba was instructed by Oti Akenteng to take over the role of Prince Pambo without an official appointment.

His previous role as the team doctor of the Black Stars raised a lot of questions over his competence as a sport doctor with many of the players complaining about his injury detection and treatment methods especially in the case of Richmond Boakye Yiadom at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

This is believed to have resulted in him losing his job to Chris Adomako with the Black Stars but there seem to be a grand plot in kicking out Prince Pambo in favour of Baba Adam.

Pambo who was in charge in Ghana’s last qualifier against Algeria is however determined to hold onto his appointment which has given rise to the simmering tension in the Black Satellites’ camp.

This development could cause some troubles in the Ghana camp as they move into the final stages of their preparations ahead of their African Cup qualifier against Benin to be played on August 4 in Cape Coast.
