Terkper is to blame for problems - Saka Quaye

Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority Saka Acquaye has lashed at Finance Minister Seth Terkper for ‘destroying’ sports in the country.

The Finance Minister has come under attack from the sports fraternity for the 40% slash in the budgetary allocation for the Sports Ministry for the year 2016.

This is a consistent trend in the past four years where the budgetary allocation to Sports has been cut.

The staggering 40% cut for 2016 will further stifle the efforts of the Sports Ministry to resource the various sporting associations, pay its staff and undertake developmental projects.

Deputy boss of the NSA (Technical) Saka Acquaye says Seth Terkper is solely responsible for destroying sports in the country over his persistent cuts to the budget.

“Seth Tekper has destroyed sports in this country,” he said. “The 22 million is going to be used to pay the staff of the Ministry, workers of the National Sports Authority, workers of the Sports College and all,”

“The budget for sports keeps getting decreased from four years ago, three years ago, a year ago and now also.
