Accra, Sept. 29, GNA - Nii Ofoli Tetteh of the Fit Square Gym caused a major stir at last Friday's weekly boxing contest organized by the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association (GAABA) when he halted the unbeaten run of Panix-Gym's Joshua Barnor with a convincing defeat. Barnor, the overall best boxer during the inaugural league, which ended a few months ago, was the only unbeaten candidate in the Featherweight division, however, his 24-bout streak was cut short by Tetteh who totally outclassed him this time round. It was the Panix-Gym boxer's fourth defeat in his short career but he has vowed to make amends in subsequent editions.

Barnor told the GNA Sports that he will step-up his training in to regain his old form before the resumption of the second edition of the league as he seeks to defend his title.

In other bouts, Jesse Lartey of the Fit Square Gym defeated Faisal Abubakar of the Bronx Gym in the Light Flyweight division while Victor Kuwornu, a.k.a "Agya Koo" restored some pride for Bronx Gym when he accounted for Michael Pappoe of Panix- Gym in their Featherweight class. De Oak-Gym's Odoi Yemefio, "The Pride of Osu" beat Frank Bebu of Fit Square just as Ben Lamptey of Will Power Gym replicated a similar feat on Yaya Afra Sackey in the same division.

Emmanuel Tagoe, whose fans kept the Prisons Canteen alive with several chants and songs, defeated Theophilus Dodoo of Bukom Gym in the Middleweight division to end an exciting night of fisticuffs.
