*‘The Brazilians of Africa’ now in Brazil: Ghana Black Stars*

The Black Stars of Ghana were tagged the Brazilians of Africa way back before Brazil won the bid to host the prestigious FIFA football mundial in 2014. Ghanaians and other football fanatics started asking the question will the Black Stars make it to Brazil in 2014? It was a huge cloud of uncertainty hanging around the players and managers of the stars to prove to the world why they are tagged the Brazilians of Africa by qualifying at all cost.

The last time Ghana qualified to the FIFA World Cup in South Africa 2010, the team was managed by a foreign coach which most Ghanaians believe should be what the FA should stick to if we’d qualify to Brazil in 2014. But no, this was not the case because a Ghanaian coach was appointed to manage the affairs of the Black Stars before the beginning of the 2014 qualifiers.

How many Ghanaians supported this idea when James Kwesi Appiah was appointed, just few of us believed he will even manage to hold on to the job for one year. Here we are in 2013 playing the qualifying play-offs against almighty Egypt with a black coach in charge and deliver did he, amid in grand style.

The Black Stars did not just qualify for the world cup by beating the seven times winners of the Africa Cup in the playoffs by 7:3 on aggregate but we also qualified ahead of Zambia who were Africa champions in 2012 just about a year and half ago. The superlative style in which the Black Stars qualified is clear enough to tell the football world that we are coming to Brazil to show the world why we are tagged the Brazilians of Africa.

When Roger Milla said in the 1990 World Cup that the world should wait until they see the Black Stars play in the World Cup, today he has long been vindicated by the Stars’ impressive shows in their two successive appearances in Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010. Brazil 2014 will not be an exception looking at how the Black Stars qualified in style. The world will be waiting to see something extraordinary from the Stars come 2014 in Brazil and that will be going a step forward into qualifying for the semi-finals this time round.

The Brazilians of Africa are here in Brazil now, and the Black Stars cannot wait to make Africa proud and once again live up to expectation come 2014 as the able leaders of the continent of Africa anytime the need arises.

Now that we are in Brazil, we have to prepare very well especially putting together a very strong technical bench. There will be lots of tactical ploys from different countries in the games during the tournament and Ghana will need a strong technical team to lead us to the semi-final in Brazil 2014.

Scouting of teams in our group after the draw on the 6th of December and our players across the world should start now.

See you in Brazil.

God Bless Black Stars! God Bless Ghana!!
