Thank you, my brothers\sisters for taking time to help in this noble course.
I will keep it short and simple.
I started this petition, due to my frustration with getting live TV coverage from Ghana on the internet. As you know, Ghana is hosting (Africa Cup of Nations). To my amazement, there was no foresight by the leadership of the event planners, to make the games accessible by all Ghanaians and the world.
Problem: Ghanaians are scattered all over the globe today. Many places around the world do not offer any coverage of news or events happening in Ghana on their news programming. Few internet sites offering GTV coverage are not only charging premium subscription fees, they are easily overwhelmed with internet traffic during major events such Can. 2008. Many smaller nations and companies have been offering live streaming of their programming for years, as means of keeping their people connected to their issues. Live streaming of programming must become a priority for GTV immediately.
Benefits: GTV has been a critical avenue for keeping Ghanaians connected to issues effecting Ghana over the years. It is time for GTV to wake-up to the advent of the internet, and its importance as an informational medium. This will not only benefit Ghanaians abroad, but those who have internet access in Ghana. During major issues of importance, such as natural disasters, live streaming will be a source of call to action of all Ghanaians, and during celebrations, those who cannot physically be present, will be able to join the occasion online, from where ever they maybe in the world. This will be a good and important additional medium for nation?s network to achieve its mandate, of keeping Ghanaians informed about issues affecting Ghana.
Demand: We simply ask GTV to broadcast online streaming of all its programming ?live online ?. This issue must be handled with the utmost immediacy.
My Plea to You: Please sign this petition regardless of your location in the world, forward this petition to all your friends in your email, link this site to any Ghanaian gatherings, such as forums, chat sites, and anybody you know that have access to the internet.
Thank you for your time,
God bless you!
Kofi Ashanti.
