Orlando Pirates Ghanaian midfielder-cum-defender, Edwin Gyimah, has moved to defend coach, Eric Tinkler, against pundits who are critical of how he manages the side.
Tinkler had to shuffle his squad around due to Bucs’ involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup, which means that they have had to endure a packed schedule.
Additionally, the Pirates players were not afforded an off season which meant that the coach has had to be even more aware of fatigue setting in for his players.
Pundits have indicated that Tinkler’s continuous tinkering with the team has made it difficult for the Sea Robbers to challenge on different fronts.
Gyimah has in turn come out in defence of his coach, indicating that due to Pirates' involvement in numerous competitions, the coach has been forced to make adjustments here and there.
“The pundits don’t know anything about football. He was tinkering because we have more competitions than other teams, so it was expected.
"We wouldn’t have been in another final if he was playing the same players in all competitions,” Gyimah told Soccer Laduma.
