Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu has expressed his confidence ahead of his UEFA Champions League debut for AS Monaco against Barcelona.
After overcoming injury setbacks last season, Salisu is eager to showcase his abilities in Europe’s elite competition.
The 25-year-old played a vital role in Monaco's qualification for the Champions League after returning to full fitness. Now, he is prepared to make an impact in what he describes as a crucial season for both him and the team.
"We started well as a team, and I’ve started well as an individual," Salisu shared in an interview with Flashscore.
"I'm happy about this because I arrived here injured, and it was complicated. This is my first full season with the team, and I feel it's an important season for me, so I need to be ready."
Salisu radiates confidence, particularly as he sees the positive energy within the squad. "There’s good spirit in the camp. The boys have good energy in training. We try to fight every game and take things step-by-step because it's an important season," he added.
With his sights set on the Champions League challenge, Salisu believes he is in prime condition to make an impact, stating, "I think we are in good shape."
