Ex-Ghana Black stars international has revealed there’s no future for footballers who ply their trade playing all their career in the Ghana premier league.

Ghanaian players in the Ghana premier league have been criticised for leaving the scene after one fine and fruitful season that sees them win a goal scoring boot or most valuable player (MVP) accolade.

But Willie Klutse who made his name playing in the local league for years disagrees with the critics as he sees no bright future for players that play years in the GPL.

In an interview with sportscrusader.com, “the Ghanaian player has no future playing in the domestic league. The only future for a player in the league is to do well and secure a lucrative deal outside Ghana.”

“The play here is semi-professional and not professional as we are always told. Most of the players are school drop-outs and that is why we entreat our players to excel and travel outside so they can have a better future during retirement and the opportunities to represent the nation at national team level,” he added.
