Young Apostles president, Samuel Anim Addo has claimed Asante Kotoko were lucky to avoid defeat against his outfit in the Ghana Premier League clash.

The Premier League debutants held the Porcupine Warriors to a 1-1 draw at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in matchday three of the domestic top-flight campaign.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the net in the thrilling encounter.

Young Apostles showed resilience and determination, breaking the deadlock in the 51st minute through Daniel Lomotey. Despite Kotoko's dominating possession, they struggled to break down their opponents' defence.

However, Emmanuel Antwi came to Kotoko's rescue with a 79th-minute equalizer after scoring a classy goal to salvage a point for the Ghanaian giants.

Speaking to Kessben FM, the former Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association, who was keen to secure maximum points claimed the Porcupine Warriors were lucky to avoid defeat in the thrilling clash.

“Asante Kotoko were lucky to avoid defeat and must be thankful to their God,” he said after the match.

The record Ghana Premier League holders will face Berekum Chelsea in matchday four of the top flight while Young Apostles takes on Aduana Stars, who suffered defeat to Nations FC on home turf at the weekend.

Young Apostles continues to search for their first league win, having picked two draws and one defeat in three games.
