Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has expressed his delight with Atletico Madrid's last-gasp victory over Deportivo La Coruna in the Spanish LaLiga on Saturday.
The Rojiblancos were on the brink of dropping points against a well drilled Deportivo La Coruna side at the Estadio Raizor.
But Partey popped up with a dramatic 92nd minute winner to help Diego Simeone's return to winning ways after playing four consecutive draws in all competitions.
“It was a difficult match. We knew how to suffer and defend well,” he said. “In the end, we deserved the three points.”
The goal was the Ghanaian enforcer's fourth goal of the season and he’s happy to be able to help the team.
“I’m doing well and I’m happy with my hard work,” he continued. “I’m going to keep fighting in order to be able to play more.”
“We’re happy to have gotten the three points.”
