Ghana international Thomas Teye Partey is delighted to have been given more playing time by Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone in pre-season.
Partey was handed a starting role on Friday as Atletico defeated English side Tottenham Hotspurs 1-0 in the International Cup friendly tournament.
The Black Stars midfielder lasted for 75 minutes after he was taken off for Amath Ndiaye Diedhieou.
Defender Diego Godin scored the only goal of the game as Ghana’s Thomas Partey played an important role in midfield for the Spanish side.
The 23-year-old who played a cameo role under manager Simeone last season as Atletico reached the Final of the Uefa Champions League, is hopeful after getting more playing time this season and is comfortable to be played in midfield.
He took to Twitter after the game to tell the world how comfortable he is to be playing in midfield.
‘I’m comfortable playing in the place where he put me.”
