Sought after Atletico Madrid superstar, Thomas Teye Partey has his future in his own hands amidst all the attention he is getting in the transfer market.
The calm but hardworking midfielder is being wanted by a host of top clubs in Europe, particularly in England following another impressive campaign with the Rojiblancos prior to the halting of the 2019/2020 football season.
Arsenal which is one of the clubs chasing Partey's signature is said to have made the first offer to Atletico Madrid last week and is now even considering adding striker Alexander Lacazette to the offer to make a swap for the player.
In the midst of all the talks, the Black Stars asset appears to have his destiny in his own hands. This is because he is wanted by the club with his manager indicating that he wants him to stay beyond 2020.
With that said, it can be recalled that last year Partey confessed that he feels at home at Atletico Madrid and will not leave until he is no more wanted.
He noted, “I've grown up in Atlético de Madrid and I'm sure I'm staying here. I do not know where they will understand me better than here. I will stay at Atlético until they do not want me here”.
Putting the interest from Diego Simeone and the player's confession together, it looks very unlikely for him to leave the Spanish capital in the upcoming transfer window.
Thomas Partey has all the cards in his hands and it is up to him to decide whether this is the right moment to leave his club or he still feels at home and will sign the new contract to stay on until 2025.
