Thousands of Cape Coast soccer fans celebrate Black Stars victory

Cape Coast, Feb. 5, GNA- Thousands of Soccer fans in the Cape Coast Metropolis and other surrounding communities poured on to the street to celebrate Ghana’s victory over Tunisia in the current African Cup of Nations tournament on going in Gabon.

Ghana beat Tunisia 2-1 after extra time to qualify for the semi-final.

Immediately the referee whistled for the end of the 120 minutes delightful proceedings, drinking bars and other entertainment centres bounced back to life, whilst soccer fans both old and young went on a carnival through the principal streets, singing and dancing to brass band music.

The jubilant fans were joined by a fleet of vehicles, which tooted their horns over Black Star’s victory over Tunisia.

Some were also seen in groups either discussing how the match was played or listening to discussions on television.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview Madam Zanabu, a trader from Jukwa expressed her delight over the match stressing that the Black Stars played out their hearts and expressed the hope that the team would bring the cup home if they continue to play determination.

Another fan who gave his name as Mr Boat, said the star’s victory was a divine intervention following the fact that most people went to church to offer special prayers for the success of the team.
