According to local radio station JoyFM, negotiations between league champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Liberty professionals over the transfer of Liberty duo William Tierro and Samuel Addo have broken down.
Both players found a new haven in Kumasi, immediately after the season and were even introduced to the players of the porcupine warriors as their new colleagues by the management of Asante Kotoko.
Fans of the club hailed the acquisitions by the management but days after the formal introduction, negotiations, which were still ongoing, hit the brick wall. Liberty and Kotoko could not come to an acceptable figure suiting both parties.
The deadlock has compelled the players to return to Accra join their teammates at Liberty in preparation for their first game against King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Coca-Cola Top Four competition.
But the move could be back on. According to Liberty coach Silas Tetteh, they are willing to release any player who hopes to move on. The national assistant coach told JOYSports their doors are always open for negotiations depending on the offer.
The off season’s major transfer talk seems to have settled on undecided national player, Emmanuel Osei who was on loan to Hearts of Oak from Suhum Maxbees and presently in Turkey on trials with Ankaragucu.
The player currently trying to make the grade in Turkey is reported to have demanded ?300m from Hearts of Oak before committing himself on a permanent move.
His club, Maxbees are also making huge demands. According to Maxwell Sarfo, ?400m is the price tag and has given Hearts of Oak the first option.
But Hearts face a strenuous task for Osei with league champions, Asante Kotoko who happen to be the major spenders in transfers also seeking the players signature.
Not only is Kotoko after the player’s signature but latest information available to JOYSports says Obuasi Goldfields, another big spender have also shown interest in the player.
