FC Porto winger Christian Atsu has admitted he is unlikely to continue with the Portuguese Champions.
The Ghanaian international on Tuesday revealed his disappointment at being left out of crucial games especially in that of last weekend’s clash with rivals Benfica.
“I was not very happy. It was a dream for me as a player to play against Benfica. I was very upset and felt I’m rather used against the smaller clubs and left out of the bigger games,” a disappointed Atsu said.
The Black Stars winger who has refused to extend his contract with Porto despite the club’s desire to have him stay, when questioned about his future which has been a subject of intense speculations finally opened up to reveal his dreams explaining that his next stop will be England, if he is to leave Porto.
“I do not say I’m leaving, but if I leave Porto, it is my dream to play in England. Since I started playing football, it’s been my dream to play in the Premier League. There are times when we have to think about following our dreams and this is the time to follow my dream,” he acknowledged.
Atsu, 21, arrived at Porto in 2009 and has a contract with the Dragons until June 2014.
He has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time with the likes of Tottenham and Everton credited with an interest in him.
Recently, an unnamed Premier League was reported to have tabled an offer for the Ghanaian youngster who has only been a starter in 12 of the 31 games he has played this season with Porto.
