CAF technical instructor Ben Koufie says the timing of Kwesi Appiah’s exit as Black Stars coach could imperil Ghana’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualification chances.
The Ghana Football Association announced on Friday that it has parted ways with ex-Ghana international on mutual consent after 29 months.
Appiah signed a new two-year deal before leading Ghana at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals and took charge of their opening two Nations Cup finals.
Koufie, whose name was proposed for the technical advisor job, believes Appiah’s exit could rock the Black Stars campaign.
“The timing for me is was wrong. His contract was renewed some few months ago and now this,” Koufie told Accra-based Happy FM.
“This has the ability to destabilize the teams AFCON’s qualifiers which we all know is priceless.”
