Stunning revelations emerging from the camp of premier league side Medeama SC indicate that alleged match fixing resulted in the sudden departure of the team’s coach Tom Marcus Strand.
His agent, Prof Darleen Nana Akwasi, is alleging that officials of Medeama SC were involved in fixing Premier League games even though the Tarkwa-based side had earlier accused the Swede of putting up indiscipline behavior at the Club.
On Kumasi-based FOX FM in relation to his client leaving a note indicating he has resigned hours after their 3-1 defeat at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Confederation Cup play-off tie on Saturday, the agent described the claims as untrue.
“Tom Strand was at Bechem United for a long time and he guided Augustine Okrah to win the goal king did you hear any bad news about him?” he asked.
“When he came to Medeama they were praising me I’ve brought them a good coach now they are complaining of his changes.
“He is the only coach in Ghana his team fix matches for him to win matches but he abandons the matches because he is a professional.”
