Ghanaian international, Tony ‘Yegoala’ Yeboah has chosen his outrageous strike for Leeds United in 1995 against Liverpool as the best goal of his career.
The former Black Stars forward moved to the English Premier League in 1995 on the back of a reported 3.4 million Euros transfer from German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt
In his first season in England, Tony Yeboah quickly settled and scored with an audacious effort against Liverpool, a club he says he supported as a child.
Speaking to Kwabena Yeboah of GTV Sports Plus in an interview, the striker has picked that equalizer as his best goal.
“Any time I am in England, I am asked about my goals and I always choose the goal against Liverpool because I am a Liverpool fan so it was special to score against them.
“And it was a long time that Leeds had not beaten Liverpool. I met Ian Rush, Barnes, players I had liked them from a distance and said; this one I have to show something”, Yegoala said.
At the end of a very successful club career and with the Black Stars of Ghana as well, Anthony Yeboah is remembered for scoring jaw-dropping goals.
