GHANASoccernet.com takes a look at SIX big-name players who spiced up the 2014/2015 Ghana Premier League but will be missing in the upcoming campaign after the transfer window was closed yesterday.

Richard Kingson:

The goalkeeper’s move to Techiman City could not materialize before the window shut on Wednesday.

The former Black Stars No.1 made a return to the Ghana League last term after over a decade experience in several European leagues.

Kingson made a return to Great Olympics; keeping clean sheets in his first six games in all competitions.

Alfred Nelson:

Its quite unfortunate one of the best defenders in the league last season won't be seen in the 2015/2016 season.

Nelson joined Kuwaiti side Yarmouk Sports Club immediately the league ended last year but the stalwart centre back had to terminate his contract after suffering food poisoning attempt.

He signed for league champions AshantiGold SC but his registration fell through since his International Transfer Certificate couldn't arrive on time to seal his registration.

The Liberty Professionals captain will be conspicuously missing next season.

Nathaniel Asamoah:

It will be very shocking not to see Nathaniel Asamoah get involved in the 2016 Ghana Premier League season with any club since he is a free player now after his contract was terminated at Raja Casablanca in Morocco.

Football fans enjoyed watching the lethal striker last season with some sublime goals.

Baffour Gyawu:

The former Spartak Jurmala midfielder who scored two sumptuous goals in Obuasi against AshantiGold will be missing in the league next after he pledged to stay with Heart of Lions.

Gyawu wants to help the Kpando-based side secure promotion from the GN Bank Division One League.

Medeama SC tried luring the talented midfielder to their club but Baffour Gyawu chose to stay up at Hearts of Lions.

Amed Toure:

Burkina Faso striker Ahmed Simba Toure could not register for any local side after several reports had linked him with Hearts of Oak after he had his contract terminated by Kotoko.

Toure was Asante Kotoko's top scorer in the league last with 10 fantastic goals.

Kofi Abanga

Another great talent to be missing is former Hearts of Oak midfielder Kofi Abanga.

Both club and player reached a mutual agreement to part ways weeks ago. He was tipped to re-join his former club Aduana Stars but his move could not happen.

Second tier side Elmina Sharks expressed interest but the midfielder did not make himself available.
