Top Nigerian golfer praises Ghanaian golfers for promoting sport

Nigerian golfer Oche Andrew Odoh has praised Amos Korblah and other Ghanaian golfers for their efforts in promoting the sport in Africa.

Oche who is participating in the ongoing fifth Gold Fields Professional Golfers Association(PGA) Golf Championship at Damang in the Western region, described Emos Korblah as a legend in the sport.

He said, many of them take huge inspiration from Korblah and always an honour playing alongside the legend and other great players from Ghana.

"The likes of Emos Korblah, Vincent Torgah and Kojo Barnni are great players in Ghana and ensuring that the sport develops in Africa especially the West Coast," he said.

Korblah who is the West African Number One according to Oche and the second edition winner of the Gold Fields PGA Championship is staging a huge comeback in this year's competition and hope to win at the end.

At the end of Day Two on Thursday, he was only trailing defending champion Barnni by three strokes, hoping to catch up by close of day today.

Oche himself is having a good tournament and hopes to walk away with one of the winning prizes at the end of the competition.

The Nigerian said, the golf course is very challenging and needs to keep his concentration level very high to get better results.

Ghanaian golfer, Emos Korblah

Talking to Nana Prempeh, the sports editor of Power FM 97.9 in an interview at the course he revealed it is always the ambition of every golfer to win a tournament and would work very hard to be among the best at least, " he stated.

He congratulated organizers for their efforts adding that the Gold Fields PGA championship is growing to become one of the best in the world.
