Trabzonspor president Ahmet A?ao?lu has revealed how he persuaded Caleb Ekuban to stay in Turkey despite the coronavirus pandemic.

The 26-year-old was desperate to return to his native Ghana after the outbreak of the novel virus.

But the club president persuaded the Ghana international and Nigerian Tony Nwakaeme to stay on in the European country despite uncertainty regarding the disease.

"I often speak to foreign players. There are Ekuban and Nwakaeme who are not with their family now. They are obviously more affected."

"When they said they wanted to go to their country, we stated that they would be in quarantine for 14 days if they went, and they will stay in quarantine for 14 days when they returned. They accepted to stay in Turkey.
