Former Ghana Football Association Vice President, Fred Pappoe has shared how the current leadership can attract investment into the newly created developmental funds.

The GFA has set up three funds namely, The Central Fund, Medical Fund and the Special World Cup Benefit Fund to help address the pertinent issues affecting Ghana Football.

The funds are expected to cover almost all areas to aid in football growth and development in the country.

Discussions have already started at the level of the GFA and also on media patforms regarding how to make this project a success.

Fred Pappoe, an experienced and argute football brain has joined in on the conversation and suggested ways of making sure the developmental funds bloom.

Speaking to Takoradi based Skyy Power FM, he said discipline and integrity are key to making this work.

“It requires a lot of discipline in implementation, for instance when there is sponsorship money, the GFA need transfer the required sum into the funds. So there should be discipline and integrity” he noted.

The Ghana FA has often been accused of lacking transparency and honesty in their financial dealing by the public.

To ensure this public perception wanes so the FA wins the backing and support of the corporate world, Fred Pappoe wants the country’s football governing body to operate in a very transparent manner.

He told Skyy Power FM, “In terms of use of the fund money , there should be honesty, transparency, openness and accountability”

“The Funds can only grow if these are practiced. No one loves to throw money to a shady facility”

“Accountability and transparency should be key to make the funds attractive for people to put their monies in. That’s the best and only way out” he remarked.
