Transport Minister Madam Dzifa Attivor has been hailed by the local media for her extraordinary efforts in supporting beach soccer which is regarded as the fastest emerging sport in Ghana.
Madam Attivor has so far donated Ghc10, 000 cedis in cash and raised an additional Ghc30,000 cedis in pledges for the national beach soccer team, Black Sharks.
The Minister also donated a variety of items and groceries worth close to Ghc10,000 cedis in addition to assisting with payment of the team’s two weeks local camping costs.
Lack of funds from the Ministry of Youth & Sports has hindered the smooth preparations of the team for tournaments in recent times, but the rallying call by the Transport Minister is slowly yielding positive results.
Official sponsors CAL Bank and Voltic Mineral Water are expected to announce their own additional sponsorship for the team on Friday, April 10, 2015 before their departure to Seychelles this weekend.
