Two pick up nomination forms for FA job

Accra, Dec 5, GNA - Two individuals predicted for the much publicized Ghana Football Association's (GFA) Presidency have endorsed pre-event analysis by picking up their nomination forms for the position on the first day of open of nominations.

The duo, Mr. Yusif Adam Ibrahim and Mr. Kojo Bonsu, on Monday picked their nomination forms to ensure the commencement of their official interest in the elections, slated for Friday, December 30. Information gathered by the GNA Sports confirmed that Mr. Bonsu was the first to pick the forms at the Federation's secretariat before the Real Sportive Director followed suit.

The third person linked to the top post, Mr. Kwasi Nyantakye, Acting Chairman of the GFA was yet to pick his forms at the close of Monday.

Candidates have between, December 5-9 to submit their nominations, which would have to be seconded by at least 10 members of Congress.

Both men were among the three names that consistently popped up prior to the Extra Ordinary Congress of the GFA last week that decided on the date for elections.

Mr. Ibrahim, former Chairman of the extinct Executive Council is also the bankroller and Chairman of the Tema-based Real Sportive that is credited for mounting an incredible challenge, since making their premiership debut last season.

The Chairman, regarded as a disciplinarian has been touted among the fore runners of the race with many citing his exceptional administrative qualities among his strength. He is a key member of the influential Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) and an affable gentleman whose chances remain even as the rest.

Mr. Bonsu, even though regarded as an outsider by the supposed "soccer circle" was among the first to have publicly expressed interest in the job, which for once would be devoid of governmental nomination.

The former Adidas country director is the publisher of the Agoo Magazine and is remembered to have contested the Kumasi Asante Kotoko Chief Executive position on many occasions. He has never hidden his desire of occupying the FA seat regarded as the hottest by lovers of the globular leather.
