U-17 ACN: Duo searching for the GOLDEN BOOT award

Lome, March 13, GNA - Two Ghanaian players of the Black Starlets are in hot contention for the Golden Boot award at the ongoing African U-17 Championship in Togo.

The duo made up of the creative genius Ishmael Yartey and Sadick Adams have each scored three out of the 10 goals notched by the team so far.

Both players join Nigerian Chrisbantus Macauley on three goals each to lead the pack at the five-day old event.

The Nigerian grabbed the first hat-trick of the tourney in their 8-0 thrashing of Eritrea last Sunday.

Yartey who grabbed a brace in the Starlets first game against Burkina Faso got his tally to three after scoring the third of the six goals squeezed past Eritrea.

Yartey won many over with his skill and penetrating power in the game against the Burkinabes. He linked the team's midfield and attack with an amazing ease that left most supporters heart-filled.

He is regarded among the most influential assert in the team now. His amazing power and speed has being a great ingredient to the Starlets success.

Adams however marvelled all with not only being the second to hit a hat-trick at the biannual but for the fact that he was a second half substitute in the game against Eritrea.

Eritrea, making a debut appearance are seen as the weakest team in Group B if not the entire tourney.

Hot on the heels of the duo is Ransford Osei who has do far scored twice in two games.
