Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, have been placed in a tough group for next year’s Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations which will be staged in Niger.

Ghana will be in Group B together with Mali, Senegal and Burkina Faso.

The four heavyweights of African football will battle it out in the group to progress to the knockout stage.

The four countries will be based in Niger’s third-largest city, Maradi.

In Group A, Niger will face opposition from South Africa, Nigeria and Burundi.

The teams in this group will be based in the capital city of Niger, Niamey.

This tournament will be an opportunity for the Black Satellites to redeem their image following their poor showing in the U-20 WAFU Zone B championship currently ongoing in Togo.

The team failed to gain a point after losing all two games against Niger and Nigeria, respectively.

The Satellites are back in Ghana and are camped at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, as part of preparations for next year’s tournament.

The tournament will start from 2 February 2019 and end on 17 February 2019.
