Rush Soccer, a U.S based soccer academy has supported the 2016 edition of the annual Inter-Regional School Sports Festival with twenty football.

The Country Director of Rush Soccer Frank Oppong and the Technical Director of Rush Soccer Ghana George Lamptey did the presentation at the office of the National Physical Education/Sports Coordinator in Accra on Friday 19th August 2016.

During the event, Frank Oppong who doubles as the Sporting Director of Sw2edru all Blacks acknowledged the need to support football development at the basic level to ensure sustainable development.

“We at Rush Soccer see the need to support the development of football through education. It is our aim to help the development of the game round the world,” he said.

“We had the notice at the eleventh hour hence our inability to give more balls but we believe that our association with the Ghana Education Service and the Sports Directorate will see more of such support from our end,” he added.

Receiving the items, the National Director of Physical Education, Mr. Emmanuel Dormenyah lauded the effort of Rush describing it as ‘timely’.

“This is a timely intervention. I took office barely eight months ago and this tournament is just about a week to start. I have really been thinking about how to get all the equipment for the event,” he said.

“So this effort by Rush is really timely and we hope to build a strong collaboration with them from now,” he added.

The Inter-Regional School Sports Festival will be hosted in Sunyani from the 26th of August to 4th September this year.
